Three shows in we’re still talking about the Polycount Weapons and now VALVe have released the winners of the Artpass contest. This week we set to discussing these, the lack of frying pans and the overabundance of crates. Topping everything else though, we have the Uncensored Demoman contest.   We know m8, really appreciate it too. I’ve be playing with my degreaser for a few days and it’s starting to grow on me. Really like the sound it makes and the quick change is incredibly fast. Thanks for giving me the chance to try it out.

I would say if valve made tf2 free the potential for hackers goes through the roof, there would be no penalty at all for getting VAC banned

my previous comment is exactly the reason why you shouldn’t post on the website while listening to the podcast… I shall redeem myself by saying scout does have a penalty and it’s the fish, you now get a bunch of retards running around the server with just the fish out, free kills for everyone!

Just an interesting thing about the YER that wasn’t mentioned – if you stab someone being healed by a medic, you instantly disguise as them, and the medic’s healing beam switches straight to you. Pretty cool.

And the whole “MICROTRANSACTIONS” and “WORLDOFTEAMFORTRESSCRAFT” is getting pretty old now. Just sayin.

Just a note, I’m listening to the podcast and am about 37 minutes in with the discussion of the Scout’s pack and it’s brought up that the pack has no downside… well, that’s not true.

The Scout loses his pistol in exchange for the Mad Milk. While that’s true of his other two secondaries as well, the combo requires that he give up his second source of ranged damage.

I’m not sure what the spread on the Shortstop is, but the pistol is accurate at long range. I use it to whittle down sentries and such when I’m out of range. An undefended sentry will usually go down in about a clip and a half.

Also at this point two of the other three 125 HP classes (Engie and Sniper) have the capability to be more front lines with the DDS and Gunslinger putting their HP at 150.

Odds are that when the stars align and darkness descends upon the world, the terror of the 150 HP spy will rise alongside the other three as well.

with the shortstop think of a cross between the scattergun and the pistol, has quite big close damage and mid range with the reload of the pistol no matter if you fire 1 or all 4 shots.

i all the scout weps but i found the shortstop to unasal (lol fail) to play with so i swapped the set for a hat which seems to be trading offen now if you h8 your sniper set

The thing with the scout weapons, is that they’re all the downside. Yes the shortstop may do a decent dps and the reload is ridiculously fast, however, the fact that you can’t use your pistol with it as it uses pistol ammo makes it much harder to finish off enemies. With the Scattergun there are all sorts of tactics you can include whilst doubling it with the pistol, however with the shortstop it’s really just go in, throw milk, empty your clip and hope to get a kill. The Scattergun also has a much higher damage capability, as it has more pellets per shot. The milk is also much too situational to be a good secondary, which is why I tend to stick with Scattergun, pistol and fish.

Ive found that the shortstop is a good defensive weapon, however – a defensive scout is useless, tbh only idiots use the new scout weapons excluding the fish which is the same as the bat.

Actually IMHO the candy cane is FAR superior to the other scout melée weapons because it drops a health pack on every kill, not just melée kills. It’s great for battles with any class including the soldier and demo because you can just dodge their explosives
